As the dust settles and the smoke clears...

I don't think they were able to actually see our PLT/SQD waypoints. When I watched the stream there were only a very few times that she enabled the HUD to be visible and you could see waypoints, and it was only for a split second as a general direction. Nothing was concrete. I think it was just that there happened to be shit going on when we got to places. As far as 'next time' I doubt we're going to get coverage anytime soon. From what I understand the waiting list is fairly long and I don't know if they even bother doing coverage of outfits they've already covered.

    Pool Maintenance?

Tell your pool guys to come to the area of Deridder, Louisiana. They'll absolutely rape the market at those prices. I'm not kidding, the guy charges $150 a week, and that's only for one visit each week. And apparently he's the ONLY guy in this area that does pool servicing. I'm happy that it's at least cleaned up, I've been working on it for a LONG time now and I'd like to keep it clean but with my back being jacked up it becomes problematic for me to do all the maintenance myself.

    Pool Maintenance?

Ape, the guy at the pool store recommended a guy he knows to do the maintenance... and during the summer he charges $150 a week and requires that he service the pool each week. I'm not willing to (or capable of affording right now) $600 a month for it. That's enough to pay all my vehicle payments and have some left over for insurance. @-)

The Modern Motorcycle Diaries: A video

Impressive. Some of it was funny, some of it was awe-inspring, some of it seemed downright f*cking crazy to try.

As the dust settles and the smoke clears...

Truth be told I was kind of disappointed by their coverage. I thought it would be a lot more 'in the action' and less flying circles around the top of the bio dome. Although I did like that some of the TKing that was going on by the NC trolls was seen. Hopefully some idiots had poopy faces when they tried to log in the next day and their account was banned.
  6. Well... I was... um- *ahem* ... ... ... I was looking for it for myself because I'm a strong independent man. /:)

DAFUQ did you do!? Herniated L5-S1 disc encroached into approximately 50% of my spinal canal cross-section and impinging on the nerve roots for my entire low back and left leg.

21st Century Fox Joins The Future, Embraces Awful New Logo

Says you. I think the negative space being used to show the spotlight beams in the circular image is kind of catchy. We're used to seeing them as being white on a dark background, flipping the two is a neat way of doing it.
  9. Holy crap, why was that so hard to find? I thought Steam would let you browse all submitted games, but nope! I couldn't even find it by doing searches... I even reset my preferences to include every option and searched again. I finally found it by doing a 'collections' search #:-S
  10. I'm going to go vote for this one on Greenlight. :)

My spine REALLY hurts today. Worse than it's been in a long time. 4 different pain killers aren't touching it. :-<

21st Century Fox Joins The Future, Embraces Awful New Logo

It's a minimalist design, there's nothing wrong with it. No marketing device will ever appeal to 100% of the populace at all times. So it doesn't strike with you, but there are other people that it will. For what it's worth, I'm more on your boat, I think it's a bit TOO minimalist and I agree that the typeface was a bad choice... it just looks stupid.

Show us something from your country

I'm from America. Home of freedom, dick jokes and prissy celebrities. I'm at work so can't link any decent pics or vids because the websites that I'd get them from are blocked.

Best game of the past decade?

I think part of EQ's success was the fact that it was very much a groundbreaker. There were many graphical MUDs that came before, and some very good ones, but they were almost all rather limited. EQ was a massive scale and did things in such a way that you KNEW that you were one tiny person in a HUGE game world. I remember starting my very first character and I truly felt like the proverbial 'babe in the woods'... and that character was a Wood Elf, which didn't help since you started OUT IN THE WOODS. The punishment that came along with death (the xp penalty) meant that you didn't throw yourself haphazardly at foes the way that WoW does. You had to think things through. Know the fight, know your character's strengths and weaknesses and play them to the best of your ability. It was a winning mixture, and it rewarded success and punished failure. It was definitely fun. Videodrome, I don't know if any games use the CoH engine, to be honest. :P

U Mad? Windows 8 Isn’t The Flop People Want It To Be

I've trialed a couple different Linux platforms, my problem is that I'm a huge gamer and precious few of those games have Linux counterparts. Little in the way of games. The curse of Linux.

Best game of the past decade?

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Between seeing your post the other day and Steam having a very wonderfully timed sale on all Star Wars titles I was able to pick this (and a few others of those Star Wars titles mentioned in this thread, and a few not mentioned here) up and start a play through again for the fun of it.

Best game of the past decade?

CoH was fun for a while but the 'extra' content got so big that it seemed like they were just throwing out the biggest net they could find and hoping that something stuck in it. That kind of turned me off. And I think EVERY SINGLE CoH player that joined the game made a rip-off character, lol! I probably spent more time in the character creation screens making different comic book and movie characters than I actually did in the game! That was definitely one thing that game got right, the character customization is completely unequalled even today.
  20. Well some of those 1.4 THOUSAND viewers should have signed up for the site and start helping FEZ expand.

U Mad? Windows 8 Isn’t The Flop People Want It To Be

To do the math, at retail cost of $70, assume they've lost about a third of that to wholesale and third party sales as opposed to direct to consumer (full retail cost) sales, that's still give or take $5 billion dollars in revenue in 6 months. Again, I say, hardly a failure.

U Mad? Windows 8 Isn’t The Flop People Want It To Be

I never said it's a good product and it works. I think it's a terrible OS, I think it's completely backwards from how an OS should flow and intuit user needs, at least on computers other than standard PC's like desktops and laptops. Ape says it's great on tablets (as do several other guys here on the forums) but I've not used it on a tablet and so can't speak from that perspective. That being said it can't be stated that 100,000,000 units sold in 6 months (that's over half a million a day) is in any way a sales failure.
  25. The being charged more was a reference to N's article. From what I was reading most digital download services charge 10% of the software's cost, Steam charges 30%. Ultimately it's worth it though, with everything that Steam provides as far as the community.
