‘The Wolverine’ Review: The Bar Has Been Raised

That's pretty much exactly what their contract is (same with Sony and Spiderman), which is why we got stuff like the shitty 90's Fantastic Four as well as Wolverine Origins a few years back (more money in the long run if they keep the license). Jackman has expressed interest in a crossover for Wolverine to work in the MCU, but I doubt that'll happen. I'm just glad they've seemingly righted the X-men ship after X3 and Origins, FC was pretty good, this looks solid, and DOFP is ambitious as hell.
  2. Yeah, I was surprised at how good the soundtrack in the film was. The main track was fucking awesome. Really fun film.

    PACIFIC RIM

I'm planning on going to see it sometime this week. I'm expecting robots vs monsters, nothing more, and from what I've heard I will be satisfied.

EVE Player loses ship worth about $9,000

Stuff like that is why I love reading stuff about Eve Online, I would be bored with actually playing it but reading events like this is crazy with so much intrigue and insanity. Reminds me of a screenplay(?) that TFX did years ago (back in the TXB days) that I believe was called Scam of the Century that went into another crazy scenario in Eve.
  5. Same, though closer to 50/50 for me. So many memories. For Maynard, The Thirteenth Step was a bit of a, well, step down from Mer De Noms for me, such a great album.

    Ryan Davis Is Dead.

Damn, hearing this earlier was rough. Really a great guy and will be missed. The public response is fantastic though and really shows how loved he is.
  7. Man that sounds awesome. The game needs to be out now.

    Random Thoughts Thread

Omelettes are the classic test of a cooks skill. They are not easy. I'm impatient and typically end up with mine being slightly blackened on the outside. Still tastes fucking great though.
  9. Overall good changes, but not being able to install the game and put the disk away is unfortunate for me. It's the main reason I stop playing multiplayer games (fuck switching disks), and sales on console digital games is nowhere near good enough for it.
  10. I think my favorite is the D&D sale, so many great games at a ridiculous sale the more you buy.
  11. The game just looks so good, can't wait to play it. The inFamous games are the only games I've platinumed, love the series.

    What are you currently reading?

House of Chains by Steven Erikson. The whole series is essentially a conflict between gods and mortals, and it's fucking awesome. The first book kinda just drops you in running, but once you get a feel for it all it's so worth it. Are we talking Malazan Book of the Fallen? I've heard good things..House of Chains is Book 4 no? Yup, House of Chains is book 4 in Malazan. Definitely recommended so far, but book 1 was a bit of a challenge. Erikson wrote it a decade before the rest, so it's rougher, and it really just drops you in and doesn't hold your hand. I was hooked by halfway through though because of that.
  13. Same. I just pretended it was another variant of the mutagen, where instead of having no ridges like in TOS, they have this.
  14. Some cool stuff there, the focus on games I would actually play was nice. No bullshit sports, no kinect, no shitty acts or pleading celebrities. I haven't planned to get an Xbox One in the first two years (I've got way too much to play already, I'm in no hurry to upgrade), so we'll see where it goes.

Did Jordan or any other writer complete that? I can't imagine another writer digging through reams of Jordan's notes to figure out where this thing was going. Was finished with book 14 "A Memory of Light" in January, and that's exactly what happened. Jordan was on record as saying that the last book (then 12) would be the last no matter if it was 2000 pages long and they had to invent a new binding method for it. Sanderson took over and wen't "lol nope", expanded it to 3 books, but he did a fantastic job.
