49ers pleased to see Deebo Samuel at mandatory minicamp Grab

He'sbaaack. At least for mandatory minicamp.

49ers "wide-back" Deebo Samuel reported for the start of the team's three-day se sion Tuesday. And although he didn't do much during practice (Samuel was "only observing," according to the San Francisco Chronicle's ), his presence was an indication that perhaps things aren't quite as dire as they once seemed for Samuel and San Francisco.

For a while, it didn't seem as if Samuel would be with the 49ers for much longer. The do-it-all threat DJ LeMahieu Jersey and sent the franchise into a whirlwind.

Tensions appeared to have eased in recent weeks, so much so that Samuel was present for the start of minicamp.

Samuel didn't talk to reporters Tuesday, butNiners personnel who did speak were delighted to have him there.

"I think he's grabbing the situation by the horns now," left tackle Trent Williams said, "and showing how mature he is by showing up. And I think that goes a long way."

Williams told reporters he and Samuel had "good quality talks" during the offseason. The two have a close relationship, Williams said.

So, too, do Samuel and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan said that he felt Samuel's relationship with the organization Brett Gardner Jersey hadn't deteriorated completely.

"I think it's always been all right," Shanahan said. "I know we go through the busine s part of this league and things like that. But I dont think the relationship was ever too far away to not get it back to normal. Any time you're away from each other for a while, its always harder. But it's good to get him back in here and start getting him around the guys again."

When pre sed about Samuel's trade request, Shanahan opted to emphasize his connection with Samuel. The All-Pro was the crown jewel in Shanahan's system last year, racking up nearly 1,800 yards from Mariano Rivera Jersey scrimmage.

According to Shanahan, their relationship is far more than "statements" or "Instagram."

"It has to do the words that come out of my mouth to a man and (his words) back to me," Shanahan said. "And nothing else. And that's never been a problem with me and Samuel.

Samuel's appearance Tuesday ensured that he wouldn't be fined $100,000. He's not expected to practice this week, though.

This is the extent of Deebo Samuels on-field action today. He spent most of the practice in the weight room.

Still, it seems his teammates aren't too concerned about Samuel's availability.

"It would be great to have him out there, but I understand the situation," quarterback Trey Lance Didi Gregorius Jersey said. "Well be spending a lot of time together this offseason in July and the end of June. It's not something I'm worried about at all. And Joe DiMaggio Jersey then in training camp is nothing but reps."
