‘World War Z’ Review: A Novel (Albeit Bloodless) Zombie Movie

Recommended Posts

Eh, I've made my feelings on zombies pretty clear. The zombies in this movie are so fundamentally different from typical zombies that they may as well not be zombies in the first place. That was enough to get me engaged for two hours. It's not a great movie, but it's worth the price of a ticket.

Its an entertaining movie, definitely got me a few times here and there. But any fans of the book will be sorely disappointed. Although I can tell the screenwriters tried very hard to tie in a few key things from the book (i.e., how/why Israel was able to wall up before the pandemic went global, or nuclear war between Iran/Pakistan, etc). There are just too many spots that went unexplained, they almost assumed the viewer understood many things. My last gripe was these zeds are more interested in spreading the virus vs. devouring every living thing on the planet.
